Busy Week--and the Creation of a Special Writing Time

I hope that everyone is doing well out there in Blog Land!

I'm not completely unstuck on that scene, but everyone's ideas are super big helps. I got something written down. It's enough to feel okay about moving on to the next bit. I'm starting to feel pretty good about my book :) It's such a great feeling. I still have a very long way to go though. Between working full time, doing a part time job, participating in a couple philanthropic groups, trying to start a company (for another blog post) and taking a couple of classes, I feel like writing is getting pushed under the table. I think that I am going to start waking up an hour earlier and writing. Doing after work just isn't panning out as well as I would like. I did an hour this morning and it was great. Such a wonderful to start off the day :)

Does anyone out there have a "Special Writing Time"?

I write everyday from 9:00 PM to 10:30.

I write at other times, but that is my set schedule. I have eliminated:

TV
Going to movies
Playing video games
Charity and volunteer work

Writing is an enormous emotional investment for me, both in time and energy. Once I decided I must get published to follow my dreams, many things in my life had to go.

It wasn't a sacrifice. It is a focus.

8am-noon. Writing in the afternoon just doesn't cut it for me, because the best of my creative energy is gone. So I spend the morning writing, and the afternoon at the pay job and other tasks.

Wow you sound busy!

I get my best writing done late at night. (I was writing character sketches for my new WIP at 3AM this morning) I've just never been able to be a morning person!

Anthony- wow that's awesome that you can be so focused on your writing.

Lynn-I'm with you on the morning thing.

Rachel- Wow, 3AM. That's impressive. I am pretty busy--lol. Actually I think that makes me think of a new blog post...

Wow, you ARE busy! I feel guilty because I have tons of free time yet not a set writing time. I'd prefer late morning but it often doesn't happen until later in the evening.

Wow, you are one busy lady! I usually write during my lunch break and in the evenings but I'm most creative between midnight and four a.m. which kinda sucks since I have to be up at 6:30 for work.
